Studio Approach and Goals
The goal of Heather's Studio is to prepare violin students of all ages and abilities to read, study, play and perform the classical violin repertoire with not only a solid technical and musical foundation, but also with a sincere engagement to their musical growth and with the continued joy of learning about their instrument and themselves. She is currently accepting highly motivated students of all ages and levels. Her lessons are tailored to age and ability with attention to technical development, musical interpretation and basic music theory concepts. Beginners are taught with the principles and books of the Suzuki Method while more advanced students study the Etudes and Exercises of Kayser, Kreutzer, Sitt, Sevcik, Gavinies, Rode and Schradieck in addition to their preparation of other repertoire from the Baroque to Modern periods. Ensemble groups will be coached on a weekly or bi-weekly basis and will study and perform repertoire appropriate to their combined level.
